The Stepford Wives 1975 Film.

"Do you want a woman who never challenges you in any way"

Ira Levin's The Stepford Wives was written in 1972, during the beginnings of second wave feminism.

The term “Stepford Wife” is used to describe a woman who lives a blindly conforming life, remaining subservient to her husband and other authority figures while attempting to offend no one. The term is taken from a 1972 book, The Stepford Wives, which was later adapted into several feature films, and as you might imagine, it is generally considered to be derogatory. Stepford Wives are a topic of discussion and commentary among the feminist community in particular.
