"I like the idea of there being nothing left when I'm gone."

Richard Wright 49, was awarded the £25,000 Turner prize last night. It's rare to find an artist who destroys their work after putting so much time, effort and planning into their work, "This work is not for the future; it's for now" he says. The work is on show as long as the exhibition runs, then it'll be painted over. I like the idea that it's left all to memory, maybe we will remember it for being better, bigger than it actually was. I like the idea of living in the moment.
